Sharing the Arts is a non-profit performing arts program for individuals with mild to moderate developmental delays, including chromosomal abnormalities, Asperger's Syndrome, genetic anomalies, and other developmental delays. Our mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with special needs through the performing arts. Classes are led by teachers and support staff to provide redirection and assistance. Pre-teen through college-age volunteers serve as assistants, demonstrators, mentors, and most importantly, friends in the class.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES WITH HEART

Therapeutic approach aimed at improving social emotional skills through the power of connection.  Sessions will use the tools of sensory integration, play, yoga and mindfulness to help a child to connect to their bodies and improve self-regulation.   Regulatory challenges do not only hinder a child’s growth and development but also impact the entire family.   Any child can struggle with regulation but children with special needs are especially vulnerable including children diagnosed with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and sensory processing disorder.

Private therapy will be offered in either individual sessions or in dyads.  When appropriate to the child, the sensory-based equipment will be utilized within the 1Gym4All space and sessions will end with a mat based practice (separate room).  Parent coaching is also integral to the success of the program and can be provided through video conferencing.

Insurance coverage may be available.                                                   Schedule based on availability.
